VIVAnews - Telecommunication and Information Minister Mr. Tifatul Sembiring says the cabinet reshuffle rumor does not concern him. The rumor started swirling after several ministries received negative reviews in the evaluation conducted by the Presidential Work Unit for Development Monitoring and Control (UKP4).
“[This room] is cold. Why would I feel hot? [bothered]?” Sembiring said before the government’s consultation meeting with the Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR) at the State Palace on July 14 2010.
According to him, President Yudhoyono has firmly stated through his spokesperson, Mr. Julian Pasha, that the program evaluation in June has nothing to do with reshuffle. Several improperly-running ministerial programs were due to budget issues, such as prison constructions by the Law and Human Rights Ministry.
“That involves the State Budget. The list of approved development projects will not be up until June 30,” Sembiring said.
Meanwhile, the halt in the implementation of programs ran by the Telecommunication and Information Minister was caused by loans from Japan, who sets a certain standard. Therefore, the minister was asked to re-offer the tender.
“They told us to re-offer it, so we did. There are four other successful loans from Japan, but they weren’t disclosed,” the minister said.
